Kumon Madeley Education Centre, in Perth’s northeast, is now operating under the guidance of a new Instructor, Paco Mak.

Kumon Madeley Education Centre (formerly known as Kumon Marangaroo) is led by Paco Mak, a former Kumon office staff member and centre assistant. Paco has always found great satisfaction in supporting children to develop their abilities through Kumon. Now, he is taking the next step in his career through launching his own Kumon centre.

“My journey with Kumon began over 20 years ago when I started as an assistant at a Kumon centre”, Paco says. “From early on, I was drawn to the values of Kumon and found great joy in watching children grow in their confidence and learning abilities.”

“Thirteen years ago, I joined the Kumon Office, where I had the privilege of supporting Instructors across Australia and New Zealand”, he continues. “Through this role, I worked closely with many passionate [Kumon Instructors] and witnessed firsthand how they nurtured countless students to become independent, resilient learners.”

“Their dedication deeply inspired me and sparked a desire to one day open my own centre. Now, I feel it’s my turn to make a difference, to guide children on their learning journey and help shape their future through the Kumon Method.”

Paco says that there are many ways in which the Kumon Mathematics and English programmes can benefit the local community.

“Kumon is the perfect complement to a community where both schools and families value education, and want to see their children become the best version of themselves”, Paco says. “We support families by helping children consolidate strong foundations, something that recent research has shown many young learners are lacking.”

“But Kumon goes beyond just catching up. We are here to help children develop the ability to learn independently, a life skill that will benefit them not only in school but throughout their lives. By nurturing self-learners, we are contributing to a stronger, more resilient community.”

From August 2025, Kumon Madeley will increase class availability from two to four days per week, operating on Tuesday and Fridays from 3pm to 6:30pm, Thursdays from 3pm to 5:30pm, and Saturdays from 1pm to 3:30pm. The centre will also start offering KUMON CONNECT as of August, allowing students the opportunity the Kumon Maths or English programmes with a tablet and stylus.
