Kumon is coming to West Hoxton, in Sydney’s southwest, to help all students build confidence in the basics of maths and reading.
Kumon West Hoxton Education Centre is led by Instructor Sona Shrestha, who has a teaching career spanning Japan, India, and Australia. She has opened Kumon West Hoxton Education Centre with the aim of helping local students to become confident learners.
“I became a Kumon Instructor because I believe confidence in learning can shape a child’s long-term success”, Sona says. “I wanted to create a centre where students build strong foundations, independence, and resilience.”
“Kumon West Hoxton allows me to support families in the local community while giving children a clear, structured pathway to progress at their own pace.”
Through working in a range of early childhood and primary school settings, Sona has strong connections to the West Hoxton community, and understands its educational needs.
“Kumon supports the community by providing children with the opportunity to strengthen their foundational maths and English skills, build confidence, and develop independent learning habits”, Sona says.
“It offers families an additional support system beyond school and assists students needing either extension or reinforcement, helping create confident learners better prepared for future academic challenges.”
Kumon West Hoxton is located at Greenway Park Community Centre, Greenway Drive, West Hoxton, NSW 2171. Classes operate on Monday afternoons from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, and Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 4pm to 7pm.
Sona looks forward to supporting families in her local community.
