Kumon Mathematics and English is coming soon to Armstrong Creek in Geelong, Victoria, to help all local students develop confidence in the basics of mathematics and reading.

Kumon Armstrong Creek Education Centre will be led by experienced Instructor Devani Naik, who has owned and operated the Kumon centre in Point Cook, Melbourne, for 18 years. Devani originally set up a Kumon centre to support the education of her own children and hasn’t looked back since.

“I am passionate about the Kumon Method and love that I am able to nurture young children to be confident in their abilities,” Devani says. “I love what I do and can’t wait to bring this to the Armstrong Creek community.”

Devani’s daughter will follow in her mother’s footsteps as she takes over as the new Instructor of Kumon Point Cook Education Centre. Devani will relocate to the Bellarine Peninsula to focus her attention on her role as Instructor of Kumon Armstrong Creek.

“I bring with me [to Armstrong Creek] 18 years of industry experience as an Instructor and 32 years as a mum, half of which time I was a Kumon mum,” Devani says. “Kumon is not just a job for me but something that I am passionate about.”

“Certainly, the academic skills [my students acquire from Kumon] will help them get excellent results at school and beyond. But more importantly, they learn to work consistently, persevere through challenges and develop analytical minds.”

“I want students to be confident and happy. I want for them to learn to persevere through challenges and to realise that they can only learn and grow if they give it a try!”

Kumon Armstrong Creek will be located at Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library, 20 Main Street, Armstrong Creek, VIC 3217. Classes operate on Wednesday afternoons from 3pm to 6pm and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. Devani is confident that Kumon will bring many benefits to students and fit around the busy schedules of local families.

“All families lead really busy lives these days but it comes down to prioritising what is important”, Devani says. “Millions of students all around the world benefit from Kumon. I think this shows that Kumon is doable!”
