Kumon Australia is delighted to offer its support in the National Year of Reading 2012. As partners in The Reading Hour, we will work to promote the benefits of reading across Centres, within homes and around the wider community, particularly within libraries. As a leading education provider in the advanced study of English, we are dedicated to developing in students, the ability to read a variety of books regularly – in turn, building literacy skills for lifelong learning. With over 330 Kumon Education Centres operating in Australia alone, we feel now more than ever we must continue to motivate our students and families towards adopting a culture of reading. We believe that reading is indeed an essential life skill and through our National Year of Reading partnership, we wish to further encourage parents to read with their children daily, to develop their love of learning through the written word. We look forward to supporting families across Australia in sharing the benefits of reading.
